As it happened, I'd just this week agreed to set up a dev server
for a non-profit on a donated box - 366Mhz Cyrix eMachine, 192M ram
(and 3G drive!).

Picked up a boxed RH8 this morning at Fry's, started shoving CDs in
the slot, done and running now. I just accepted the defaults for
H/W configuration since I have no idea what's inside the box :-)

Even the UI (I installed Gnome) seems snappy enough. Only a bit more
config (security) to figure out and it'll be ready to go outside the
firewall.

YMMV, etc., but I'd recommend it :-)
