disclaimer: This response is a personal opinion on the validity of what you

Tim, you are EVIL!! ;-)

Seriously, FWIW, I think doing what you propose is not a good thing. As a
user, I get *very* annoyed at web designers who mess with my status bar,
scroll bar, right-click menu, and so forth. Those things should be
completely off-limits to the web designer and if I were the omnipotent king
of the Web, I would make it so. ;-)
