Any other ideas? > did you run # cvs -d /usr/local/cvsroot init then make sure /usr/local/cvsroot is writable by cditty. don't connect as root. also try adding a /usr/local/cvsroot/CVSROOT/passwd file - follow the docs - http://www.zevils.com/doc/cvsbook/cvsbook_4.html#SEC51 I think I remember reading that there is a bug in a certain version of cvs where it can't use shadow passwords. you don't want to use your actual system password anyway because cvs sends it in the clear.
