aw, nuts, i was hoping you'd say it was mumpteen letters wide, i.e. ems

still, 350/18 is about 20, so setting the h1 width at 20em might be a place
to start

i'm not saying it is, i'm still just thinking out loud

so, um, what's above this heading?  i mean, how does whatever's above it
know to skootch out of the way if some of the heading is, um, wrapping
upwards?
