Grr... Trim (both) "" ---> Test still failed; no err worked. It turns out that it was working, but I was looking in the wrong spot. The code was generating *ehem* bad html. I.e.: <option value="92503 selected">Blah blah</option> I'm sorry for wasting your time. :-& Rob
