I just tested the IE update that will appear because of the Eolas patents, and it indeed shows an alert whenever it encounters an object tag with, for instance, a Flash movie. Microsoft offers two possible solutions: a new noexternaldata=true attribute or writing out the entire object in JavaScript. Unfortunately neither works. See http://www.xs4all.nl/~ppk/js/ietest.html with the IE Update (http://msdn.microsoft.com/ieupdate/) for a test case. ------------------------------------------------------------------- ppk, freelance web developer Interaction, copywriting, JavaScript, integration http://www.xs4all.nl/~ppk/ Column "Keep it Simple": http://www.digital-web.com/columns/keepitsimple/ ------------------------------------------------------------------ _________________________________________________________________ The new MSN 8: advanced junk mail protection and 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail
