Zope is a incredibly rich Python-based web publishing environment that
I cannot say enough good things about.

Its also *free* (hard to believe!) and it is an excellent RAD toolkit
to build Python-based web applications with.
(Zope is basically a big Python application itself)

It has its own web server but it also runs quite comfortably behind
Apache or Apache-ssl.

There are some very robust enterprise-class solutions that have been
built using Zope.
As I said, I can't say enough good things about it. Check it out at
www.zope.org.
