Please turn on the Windows XP built in firewall (this has been mentioned
before on the list). That will stop the messenger pop-ups, and protect her
PC from other nasties as well.

In the Network Connections section, right-click on her internet connection,
choose properties, choose "advanced" tab, check the "internet connection
firewall" box.

DO NOT listen to the other post about removing NetBEUI. For starters, you
won't see it installed as a separate protocol on a Windows XP machine
(NetBIOS runs over TCP instead), and secondly, it's not really protecting
your machine.
