I have small site I created a few months ago. http://www.game-meats.co.nz

It performs very well for "New Zealand Game meat" or "New Zealand game
meats".
I used the title, the domain name, and well-formatted HTML with CSS and some
keyword rich text. No special tricks, not a lot of incoming links, and a
good deal of luck I think.

But may have lost some placing on the keywords without "New Zealand" in the
Google New Zealand list of pages from New Zealand.

What's the latest about the most important page elements for high ranking?
Seems to me that <title> trumped about everything a few months ago.
