Another option is innerTEXT which at times I have found to work better, esp
in tables where some browsers don't support changing HTML Table text.

Your good to go in IE5+ (its an MS extension of course) NS6+, I think
Opera 7 (not sure and its late). IE5 Mac has trouble if you need to
support that browser I believe.
