 From what I can see of your code you probably did so well because your 
code is so well written for the search engine. You have <link> tags in 
the head of your document, which lets search engines follow links that 
may otherwise not be accessible (not that you have links like that), 
your code isn't full of garbage, you don't have to scroll very far to 
get to some real content, your meta tags, title and page body content 
all match, your topic is a niche topic, you're linked with other 
similar sites (the web ring), etc.

You were most likely found by google accessing a link to your site from 
another on the web ring.
