[thelist] Mac / OS X question

I installed OSX 10.1 on an old iMac 333mhz. It worked ok. When I went
to upgrade to 10.2 it broke. Something about the graphics card was not
able to handle it, that something must have been near the breaking
point and was finally pushed over the edge with the new install. I was
never able to load any version of OSX again on it.

I know macs are expensive, but in my mind they are well worth the money
because they are so helpful for learning. I believe my macs have paid
themselves back with what I've been able to learn with them. By that I
mean being able to play with the Unix stuff under the hood while still
enjoying a normal graphical computer. Learning the Unix stuff has
helped me in my job, because even though we all have Windows
workstations, all the mission critical stuff is on Linux or Solaris,
and knowing how to get around in those environments has allowed me to
add a lot of value to the company.
