hi

currently in the process of redesigning/restructuring the home page for a
large content driven site and wondered whether people could suggest their
"favourite" home pages.

personally i think that the bbc does it really well (http://www.bbc.co.uk),
whereas i find the options of somewhere like the ny times
(http://www.nytimes.com/) or the washington post
(http://www.washingtonpost.com/) too much for me - i hardly know where to
start.

i quite like salon's (http://www.salon.com/) four column layout, although
they don't make the most of it (and a little better division of the main
central column would be nice)

i'm also interested in how harpers (http://www.harpers.org/) talks about
their content via their weekly review, but i'm not sure that really works.
i'd be fascinated to see how many visitors use/like this style of
discussing the site's content (and how it would compare to a more
conventional structural layout...)

anyway, home pages. who does it best?
