[thelist] RackSpace vs ValueWeb

I also checked out DataPipe, as Jake suggested. They seemed pretty good,
too. I ended up choosing ValueWeb, and just ordered the service, which
should be active by tomorrow afternoon. ValueWeb had a minimal support
package, reboots only and a charge for everything else, which was a better
fit for me. They were a bit cheaper for significantly more hardware and
more monthly transfer, though I am not convinced the quality of the hardware
and bandwidth match RackSpace. Also, I get the feeling ValueWeb spends less
on marketing and that could also account for the price difference.

A final selling point was the Dreamweaver MX 2004 license that's included
with the ValueWeb package at no additional charge. I had expended the
30-day free trial, but wanted to keep using Dreamweaver, so that was a real
selling point for me.

As am I. I'm very pleased with their service. Been with them over a
year now, and I've never been down from something they did.
