Subject: [thelist] menus!!!

hey....

i'm confused!!!! at least partially...

i'm trying to find a quick solution to do a menu selection. basically, i
want to be able to create a horizontal nav menu, with drop down menu
items... that much is cool...

however, i want the app to be able to display the list of the child menu
items on the left side of the page when the user selects one of the child
menus from the top menu...

  ---------------------------------------------------------
     menu1 menu2
  ---------------------------------------------------------

       menu1
        cat
        dog

and if the user selects one of the options from menu1...

  ---------------------------------------------------------
     menu1 menu2
  ---------------------------------------------------------
  | |
  | |
  | |
  | cat | text area.... |
  | dog | |
  | | blah |
  | | |
  | | blah... |
  | |
  | |
  | |
  | |
  | |

so what i want to be able to do is fill in the left menu with the
appropriate items from the nav menu. i'd also like to be able to highlight
the left child item that's being selectd....

i'm pretty sure this is fairly easy to do and i think i've seen it, but i
can't recall where i've seen it!!!!

arrgghhh!!!!

thanks,

bruce
