The notebook should post, however booting up will depend on how the BIOS is
configured. I have a desktop computer with a dead CMOS battery and the
computer will post, but will always stop with an error message saying that
the Time is wrong. I then have to go into the BIOS and reset the time before
the computer will actually boot.

One of the most forgotten, but also most important, elements of design is
the use of whitespace. When designing a website, always make sure that the
amount of text and graphics is balanced by the amount of whitespace. The use
of whitespace, or negative space, is as much a design element as the
corporate logo or the amount of text to show.

Whitespace allows a design to breath and allows readers the space needed to
pause, catch their breath, and digest what exactly you are trying to
communicate.

In addition, whitespace can carry as much weight in a design as a graphic,
so don't be afraid of putting chunks of negative space into a design -- as
long as they are offset by something of equal weight.

I have an IBM Thinkpad that has a dead CMOS battery. Now, I understand that
a bad CMOS battery would prevent the correct time from showing, but would it
prevent the entire notebook from booting up?
