[thelist] How to accet weblog pings

You know how in MT and other blogging tools, you can choose to ping
certain services? I was trying to find out how you could create a
service that accepts those pings? 

Do the weblog tools that let you specify pings use the weblogs.com spec
for pings? http://www.xmlrpc.com/weblogsCom Or is there something else
going on? (I don't need trackbacks, just pinging)
