[thelist] Word for websites?

I follow Microsoft's Word newsgroups for tips and such while I'm working on
documents, but what strikes me is how many people are trying to use Word as a
website designer. I hesitate to answer their questions with "use something
else", since I hate when people do that to me, but it's hard for me to answer
with a straight face otherwise.

Are later versions of Word acceptible for websites (I use 2000). If not, why do
people use them for that? I assume lack of desire or information about
alternatives is part of it.

Just curious.
