No, I associate ASP with the MS environment and PHP with the enlightened
environment ;)

Seriously though. A lot of companies run everything on MS, so ASP is
just a natural extension of that. If there's VB experience in-house,
then it's a good fit.

For people who want to connect a database to a web site without paying
Redmond serious cash, though, there's Perl, PHP, Python, etc etc.

FWIW, we run Perl, Java and ColdFusion.
