There's a neat little program called Site Map Creator which is specifically
designed to produce site map pages designed to be especially useful to
search engines (even includes automatic descriptions drawn from the meta-tag
and splitting into separate linked pages etc), but this currently requires
you to run it offline, ie on your local site version. It can be tweaked in
various ways and I find it a real time saver, worth the $47 for the

But you may be looking for a way of automatically updating your pages online
and this would need appreciable recoding, even if it were possible with the
program. 

Xenu can produce basic site maps from online sources, but I don't know how
you'd fix it to do so automatically. There's a new version out now:
http://home.snafu.de/tilman/xenulink.html and it's really fast. Great for
checking links too!
