Thanks for the input about pre-checked boxes being ILLEGAL in Germany.

I say it again: pre-selection (except in updating a user profile type 
situation) is an abomination, a refutation of the whole philosophy of the 
Web: user empowerment, Power to the People, freedom of choice, 
anti-dictatorial tyranny.

And pre-selection is open to sleazy manipulation, hoping user doesn't see 
the pre-checked, hope he doesn't uncheck it.

Non-selection does not mean you force a "No" option on users. That's silly 
thinking. Not raping a woman does not mean you forced on her the option to 
remain unraped.

Amen.
