Emails are public documents and are available for any legitimate purpose any 
reader wants to use them for, in my not very humble opinion. Having said 
that, I also believe that every move we make should be made by permission. I 
try to follow this rule, asking permission is never wrong. Or "unless I hear 
protests from you, I plan to use this quote" might also be okay if someone 
is sluggish about answering emails (roughly 50% of the people I've emailed 
to ask questions or permission or advice).

So yeah, you can quote anything I say anywhere to anyone anytime. If I ever 
say anything worth quoting, that is.
