If you have a Mac, there is an awesome screen capture tool from 
Ambrosia.
Snapz Pro X:

OS X already has pretty hefty screen capture capability ( far better 
than anything Windows does ) but Snapz Pro X takes it to the next 
level.  It will capture anything on your screen ( anything ) as just 
about any format you can find a user for... including capturing your 
screen ( or a selected area ) as  QuickTime movie.
