[thelist] Contribute editable regions without using templates?

I am trying to pacify a client who wants to use Contribute to edit
some pages on her site.

I want to be able to tell contribute which pages it can edit and
enclose the editable regions with a tag so that contribute knows only
to edit that area.

I do not want to recreate the pages using the DreamWeaver templates.

Are there such tags? or do I need to recreate her entire site using
DreamWeaver templates?
