Hi April, I found mod_rewrite a little tricky to get my head around but stumbled across a way of achieving this using Apache's ForceType directive, after finding this article: http://www.sitepoint.com/article/search-engine-friendly-urls/3 I managed to get that working without much difficulty. If you did want to use mod_rewrite, there is a good tutorial here: http://www.devshed.com/c/a/Apache/Search-Engine-Friendly-URLs-with-mod-rewrite/ that I would have benefited from had I found it earlier!
