[thelist] easy update facility

Hey everyone

I've offered to do a portfolio site for a friend and am going to use it as a
learning experience. I'm very comfortable creating static xhtml + css websites,
but this time I'd like to incorporate a way for my friend (who has no html
experience) to easily update the site himself - mostly adding or replacing
images, but also occasional bits of text. The site will be on a very small scale
initially (I imagine along the lines of 5 pages), so it strikes me that a
full-blown cms would be over-kill. Can anyone recommend a simple way to allow
someone with no experience of web design to update their site? Although I'm keen
to learn, I don't yet have any experience of php, so don't have the option of
writing something myself from scratch (if that's the way to go...).

I would appreciate any advice/words of wisdom from those more knowledgeable than
myself :-)
