Close enough to arbitrary. Just to add some context.

It's an art site. An artist is a category in a hiearchical tree. The artist 
is related to a top level category, there are products related to the 
artist. Each product as a "type", perhaps sculpture, or painting, or 
drawings, for example.

What my client wants is that each artist displays the list of "types" in a 
formation unique to them. One may be a sculpter first, and an painter 
second, this, sculptures would take precedence over painting. He wants to 
re-order them according to subjective importance.
