[thelist] forece type/mod_rewrite problem

I have a file (called dir) in the root of my domain.  I'm using 
forcetype so it can emulate a directory structure with one file (IE 
www.domain.com/dir/category/subcategory).  Everything works fine if a 
user goes to www.domain.com/dir or to www.domain.com/dir/category/ BUT 
it breaks if someone goes to www.domain.com/dir/.  That trailing slash 
after dir breaks everything.

I've been trying to figure out a rewrite rule which will send 
www.domain.com/dir/ to www.domain.com/dir but am having no luck, and I'm 
not even sure that that's the best way to deal with this problem. 
Anyone have any ideas?
