Perhaps I should clarify - the wedding couple don't want to make their
friends feel there is ANY sort of information linking their identities
with their item commitments. That's why they want it to be COMPLETELY
anonymous - no email addresses stored, no logins, etc. This makes it a
little tough for me to add a confirmation layer without "silliness",
as you say.

Further ideas on this conundrum are much appreciated. Thanks for your help!
