Definitely legit - and definitely not mainstream (same with your 3rd one) :) I have myself even
briefly turned off JS to get around some annoying site feature, but I can only recall doing it
maybe once or twice. Definitely not as a surfing habit - and maybe that is more along the lines of
what I am after. 

I can see the one-time thing. I'm more interested in those who might be actively surfing, site to
site, with it off completely.
