Hi Megan,

Perhaps searching for 'collaboration' or 'white board' tools may turn up

some interesting alternatives.

I've used "Virtual Classroom" - but that may be a bit pricey.

A conference call and an on-line white board may simulate sitting 
around a conference table using highlighters.
