I don't think you are going to have much luck with your angle of attack. I think you are stuck with two user tables or maybe migrating to the web BB of your choices user table and share backwards to your app.

Do you have the option of using mySQL 5.0? You could then setup a trigger to setup a new user when one is added to your web app. Or just code a function to do it. You will need to setup a dual way sync of passwords between your app and the BB - but that is not very difficult.

Hey, it beats rolling your own BB app.
