[thelist] Firefox No Script dysfunction

I was using the Firefox browser, current version, with the No Script
extension, for a long time. But about two weeks ago, what I call the "script
permission bar" that appeared across the bottom of my top browser chrome, it
vanished, leaving all scripts forbidden by default.

Thus, using Firefox, I was unable to do perform any action that required the
activation of javascript. So I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it
without the No Script extension. Now I can perform javascript functions on
sites, but I'm less secure, with scripts globally permitted.

I asked about this on Mozillazine forum, but got no response.

Anyone ever experience this, or know what to do about it, to be able to use
No Script *with* a permit/forbid bar?
