I agree with Jules. Flash is what I prefer as well and it seems that I 
get better quality for my file size with Flash 8. As for distribution 
software, you'll need nothing on your server for Flash, Quicktime, or 
Windows Media Video. I have no clue about Real (which I don't use either).
