It's fantastic spam filtering software, particularly if, as has been said, 
you set up the bayes db and the facility for learning on error.

The only real negative is the resources it will suck up. It really is quite 
CPU intensive. At the end of the day it might just depend on how much power 
you have available.

One thing that helps is rejecting as much mail as possible at the smtp 
level, before it even reaches spamassassin. So make sure you have smtp 
restrictions setup. Greylisting should help too.
