To be fair, every market has stages, and we happen to be in the "cheap clone" stage; it's a fact of (business) life. Now if you want a particular specialty, etc. then you're probably going to have to pay for it.

I just hope Kenneth never finds himself in a mess that requires him to solicit help from any of the folks on this list :)

P.S. There's probably a reason that nobody here has mentioned that site in three years.

Mac, I think you've hit the nail on the head.

Kenneth just thinks he's paying for a "coder". Therefore if he doesn't
appreciate what's involved in the job how would he know how to select
the right firm?

nice rant. Now then - is it our fault that you picked a shop that
couldn't
do what you want? How did you select them, evaluate them?

we're entitled to (and get) our approx $100 per hour because we have
years
of business experience, because we can tell clients when their ideas
won't
work - and suggest new ideas that will, because we turn out good quality
code on time and on budget.

and we're no different to hundreds - probably thousands - of development
companies; if you engaged the wrong one(s), then your selection process
is
flawed.
