[thelist] What is the best programming language for the web?

Apologies Judah,

I think I got confuddled with this initial statement from John:
"Anything given away (PHP, ASP) take the prize in initial capitalization
costs, although they'd get more expensive when also looking at total
ongoing costs."

'total development costs', 'total ongoing costs'
Po-tay-toe, po-taa-toe...

Anyway, this is pointless - we all know that the new language mashup "Visual PHP-Fusion.NET" is the best programming language for the web, and when it gets on Rails we're all gonna be out of work.

Thanks for not getting Jeff involved, I'm still stinging from his reply to a newbie JavaScript post I made 4 years ago*

:)
