Any problem with layout on IE is most likely to be CSS. I took a brief look at it, and that's an odd way to layout a page. 

Without looking at it on our IE6 test box, get him to have a look here: http://www.positioniseverything.net/ (Site dedicated to browser rendering bugs.)

appears fine on all browsers (so far) apart from IE6, but he doesn't know why...
