<shrug /> ... Yeah, so?  It happens anyway.  Moreover, in today's litigious society you may actually end up liable for allowing it to happen in the first place.

Well, as one scenario, some companies might not want a short term contractor to have unlimited access to their personnel and payroll files or shares.

As a second scenario, some companies may be more SOX compliant than others and set up more role-based permissions to share drives (as well as db partitions).
