With Firefox 3.0 has moved to an embedded SQL engine (SQLite) to store 
bookmarks. Thankfully, there is a Firefox add-on that can be used to 
manage the DB directly: SQLite Manager.

Other software designers are starting to use this embedded engine. So 
the add-on can be used to manage them too.
