Hey Mark -

Thanks - just got done trying that.  I guess this serves me right for
introducing two unknowns (Windows 2008/IIS 7 AND SQL Server 2008) at the
same time!

Just strange that a regular ASP page will serve up  fine...

Perhaps you need to manually set permissions on the folder:
