I am working with a client like this right now, ugh!
I build a reasonale amount of phone/meeting time into the price and mention
this in the contract, and warn them when they are getting close to the max
that additional time will be additional hours. This client knows now that
they are way over the max and I am now accumulating bonus money.
There is no way I would have predicted that this client would have been such
high maintenance, although often I know right away from talking to a
potential client that they will fritter away my time on endless emails and
phone calls.
