Thanks for all the feedback. I do have an older Win2k version that has IE6 so I'll give that a spin, I hope the various tools I use install correctly. The Win XP copies I have are already have SP updates applied so no IE6. I might need to get an older copy off ebay or craigslit.

Microsoft provide ready-to-go disk images of XP with IE6 installed (and
various other combinations) specifically for development purposes.
