Have not tried Zingiri myself, but have used the free version of the 
e-commerce plugin http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-e-commerce/ 
from http://www.instinct.co.nz/e-commerce/ for a digital download site 
that worked well.

Can not speak to the shipping or tax parts of the plug in but just 
looking at it, seems everything is there. Good integration with the 
Paypal IPN and a few other gateways. Prices for premium features are 
reasonable while the free version has all the functionality needed for 
simpler shops.
