Hmmm . . . large ad budget, user-managed security, wonky code.

Perhaps there's reason to go with Plan B, which was to reverse engineer the
functionality, and start over with a trusted developer.

Which goes back to my original query: anyone want to talk to a highly
motivated prospect with the ability to pay who needs a large CMS app rebuilt
from scratch? It's not my cuppa tea or I'd take it on myself.
