Whenever something is not working in IE < 8 for me and I can't sort out why,
I just start adding 'position: relative;' or 'overflow:hidden' to all manner
of stuff. Usually at least surfaces the issue. For debugging, having
'border: 1px solid red;' assigned to a shortcut is handy!
