Shubhrajit,
Unless your browser window was opened by script it will always ask your
user to confirm. It is a security feature of the browser. Some have said you
can get around this with a signed script, which you may find more info on at
Netscapes Javascript website (don't know the URL off hand).

Hi all,
I have an HTML page in which the Javascript code tries to close the browser
window on clicking a button. However , some browsers are asking for a
confirmation from the user before closing the window.Why does this happen
and how to prevent this?
