Yes this is possible as we will be including Acrobat Reader on the CD's so
they can open the files.

Hopefully there is a way to detect if they have them installed and prompt
for installment.

    Are you able to install anything on the machine where you're going to
run the CD (on the off chance that they don't have WSH installed)?

    Also, some people do have WSH disabled for security reasons, so you'll
need a way to detect and prompt the user if it needs to be enabled.

         I've had a quick look at MSDN regarding ActiveX objects with
JScript.
  This I find very interesting, especially for this project. I've searched
for
  .wsh files on MSDN and what it takes to support them etc. The references I
  did find say that a .wsh file can be treated as an executable program
(exe)
  for 32 bit systems?

  This project will only run on newer systems (windows 98,2000,NT,ME), so is
  my assumption correct that .wsh files will work for these systems?
