Yes, this is the users initial visit, and so there is no account info set
up -- so it's not really a logout page as such.  Sorry I wasn't clear.

Is your problem really that you are not truly "logging out" users? Normally,
once logged out users cannot write or "mess up" the database. This question
would probably be better answered in a server-side list like the one at
http://www.15seconds.com/listserv.htm .

If this is the case, then preventing the back button is the wrong (and much,
much harder) cure for your ailment...
