I don't read to much lately, but I see it working.
And everyone interested can see it too for instance here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/officedev/odeopg/deovrunderstandingscriptobjectproperties.htm
And some references like
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/officedev/vbaof10/ofproId.htm#
and/or
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/devprods/vs6/vinterdev/vidref/viproidproperty.htm
anyway, IT WORKS!!! I like it ,and it is very usefool... for instance getting different script functions from different files, writing and deleting them on the fly
you can eve use it to download data from a different file on the server without any dummy controls activeX etc. You can f.i. use external src data to change the content of youre tags without reloading the page, -not changing the style but also the content tag by tag if you like.
If one would not use it's benefits because he cant find refferences about it, that's fine with me.
!sorry for mistyped words
Cheers

I wouldn't exactly call it name-calling... and I think, however unusual, that the HTML is part of the design (there are two links on the bottom).

Lets not drop into name calling. There are many people and companies who don't follow standards. Have you never exceeded the speed limit while driving? Does Internet Explorer comply completely with the W3C standards? No. Is Microsoft broke? Not by a long shot. But IE 5 must be broke because when I go to http://www.webtuitive.com I see a bunch of source HTML and no links.

The spec explicitly lists legal attributes of all elements. ID is
an attribute of most tags, but not all.

I would suggest that people not adhering to standards is "broke",
badly, and also easily avoidable.
Web standards are your friend. Visit the W3C every day :-)
